Pantheon is a representation of three Celtic Pagan gods and
goddesses. Rebecca wanted to focus on the idea to learn
more about her own ancient history. She found it ironic that in school we are taught
about the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, yet she knew very little
about her own ancient Celtic ancestry.
The
term Celts is a collective word for tribes of people who lived during
the Iron Age. The tribes stretched from Ireland to parts of Turkey.
These people were Pagans, this means they believe in many gods. Rebecca has embodied Cernunnos, god of the hunt and the forest, Brighid
goddess of healing, prophecy and the arts and Morrigan, the goddess of
war and sovereignity. There are many hundreds of Celtic Pagan gods but
these three felt the most imposing. Rebecca found it interesting that these
gods are not all good, all knowing creatures. They have characteristics
that are full of real human emotions.
